On 3 June 2019, EURALIUS V in collaboration with PAMECA V and the School of Magistrates (‘SoM’) organized a second training on some amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code – “Judge of Preliminary Hearing” (the first training took place on 3-4 December 2018).
During the training, PAMECA Short Term Experts delivered presentations on: ‘The relation prosecutor- judge on the request of pre-trail arrest and the request for trial at the end of the preliminary investigations in the light of Italian experience. The essential characteristics of the request for trial: compulsion and irreversibility’ and ‘Preliminary hearing in the trials against organized crime. Difficulties, solutions challenges’.
EURALIUS and PAMECA experts provided guidance regarding interpretation aspects of the law. Experts from the SoM, presented the amendments of the Criminal Procedure Code with a focus on the judge of preliminary hearing and experiences in the application of the new amendments in such regard. Training took place in Tirana and was attended by 30 magistrates who showed high interest for the topic and extensively participated in discussions.
