Training on Inadmissibility of evidence in criminal proceedings
On 19 May 2020, School of Magistrates in cooperation with EURALIUS and the Italian Project AICS/CSM organized an online training on ‘Inadmissibility of evidence in criminal proceedings:
Training on the Methodology of the Internal Audit Unit
On 7 and 8 May 2020, EURALIUS in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and Economy is organizing a training with the representatives of Internal Audit Unit and Department of Finance of the Ministry of Justice and Audit Unit of the General Directorate of Prisons on the methodology of the internal audit, audit planning, evaluation of risks etc. This is the first training course which will be followed by three other trainings on the methodology of the performance audit, implementation of audit recommendations as well as IPA funds audit.
These training are conducted in the framework of the assistance that EURALIUS provides to the Ministry of Justice and its subordinate institutions in order to improve the quality of auditing activities. These trainings will be held at the premises of the MoJ’s conference hall taking all the precautionary measures as advised by the Albanian Authorities.
Workshop on Curricula for Chancellors of Prosecution Offices
On 1 May 2020, School of Magistrates in cooperation with EURALIUS organized an online workshop with the Working Group on Elaboration of Curricula for Chancellors of Prosecution Offices. This was the first meeting of the Working Group, which is composed by representatives from the High Prosecutorial Council, School of Magistrates, Prosecutors, Chancellors of Prosecution Offices and EURALIUS Experts. The Working Group will work on the elaboration of the initial training programme (curricula) for chancellors of prosecution offices. The curricula will follow the model of the curricula of chancellors of courts, which is already finalized. During this first workshop were discussed the learning objectives for some of the modules and agreed on a forthcoming workplan.
Awareness Raising on the Profession of Magistrate
On 30 April 2020, EURALIUS participated in an online Lecture on ‘Exchange of Information, Intelligence Activities and Joint Investigation Teams (JITs): The Role of the Albanian School of Magistrates’, organized by the Jean Monnet Module, EU-Western Balkans Cooperation on Justice and Home Affairs (EUWEB), University of Salerno, Italy. EURALIUS experts and the representative of the Albanian School of Magistrates (SoM) delivered presentation on the ‘Role of the SoM in the Light of the Justice Reform in Albania’ and had the opportunity to raise the awareness of the participants on the profession of magistrate and introduce them with the admission procedures to the SoM. Lecture was attended by 70 students and law professionals. 25 of them were of Albanian origin, and potential candidates to apply for admission to the SoM.
